Why are people as narrow minded enough to agree that humans could never create life?

Like in a lab or a machine one day in the future. We can already clone life so I'm sure creating it wouldn't be too tough either. What do you think? If you disagree, give me a non-biblical reason to your disagreement. And answer me this also bible believers, since your ''god'' ''gives'' us freedom to do as we please, we wouldn't he give us the freedom to be god-like also since you say only your ''god'' can create life?
