Why are people complaining about social security not getting a raise this year?

The raises are designed to match the change in INFLATION.

Since inflation is virtually 0% right now,
since the cost of living remains the same.....

so should their income.
That makes SENSE.

Yet people are up in arms about it.
Why?
Who says they're entitled to a raise every year?

We should be more concerned about preserving what's left of social security than giving seniors annual raises.

They did a poll an 80% favor giving them a raise this year, 20% do not.
 
I don't know if I'd complain if it wasn't that congress saw fit to give themselves a raise. Just exemplifies this congress perfectly.

Do you think you could live on what SS pays? Many seniors took a beating in this bad economy and never intended to be able to make it on SS alone.
 
How many teabaggies are upset they are the largest group who want to cut entitlements how do the senior teabaggies feel about not getting a raise again. I feel that the seniors should get some kind of raise because cost of living is going up, food state and city taxes electric bill gas bill water need I say more
 
I agree. Last year Obama sent them money anyway even though there wasnt enough inflation to warrant a COL increase.

A bribe....
 
people are in favor of getting more money?...that's crazy talk...S.S.is a pittance at best...democrats have called freezes in spending as "cuts" before.why are they CUTTING IT NOW?
 
People that are capable of working and are drawing food stamps should have their food stamps cut to allow a raise for our seniors or any person that has been on government aid for more than 12 months should be dropped from the government teat.
 
Because that is two years in a row with no raises for our most vulnerable citizens..

I am curious whether those on the various welfare programs throughout the country are going to get an increase..
