Why are people so against bankers gettting a bonus this year?

i work for RBS and earn £80K in HR. Told today my team were getting 10% bonus, = £8K.

Unfort i have to pay tax on that, but quite content. Ive worked my arse off this year, so why all the uproar about bonuses in the press? Surely its right that these decisions are taken on performance based measures
 
they say that the banks are losing money buy they are giving large sums of it to employees (especially rewarding the directors).

the government has forked millions of pounds into the banks and the taxpayers' money is not being used efficiently and as it 'suppose' to.
