Why cant I connect to the internet when I can see my router with 3 bars

when I go to connect? I have a linksys router and windows vista, I have just installed the latest firmware for my router. THe problem is when I start up the computer and it does not auto-connect I click on the thing where you connect and my router shows up with about 3 bars or so. I click it and after a few seconds it says could not connect, when I run the solutions thing from vista it says that I should troubleshoot a low wireless single which isn't true because I have 3 bars. Is this something to do with vista? (keep in mind Ive had the computer for about 2 weeks so its possible I could be missing some sort of driver or update) THanks

Could be a firewall issue. Make sure your firewall consider if you have one has the ip in the exception list on your firewall. Could be blocking the ip from your router.
