Why do Christians promote the idea that their religion is the "right" religion?

Why do Christians promote the idea that their religion is the "right" religion?

What I mean is treating people like they're wrong if they don't follow the same beliefs, and forcing beliefs on others.

Because they feel that, in accordance with their beliefs, they must. I find that completely respectable.
What I have a problem with, is when Christians shove their beliefs down the throats of others and are completely close-minded to anyone else's point of view.
