...depression/bipolar? So let me start by saying I love God and I completely agree with the people that say that God COULD fix these conditions but that does not mean that He is going to. I view mental illness like other diseases that cause physical problems these just happen to be mental. In my head it's like telling some one that they have cancer because they lack faith. (I'm not saying that depression is worse than cancer it's just the example I thought of so I hope I didn't offend anyone) I don't think that all Christians believe this I have just heard it more than once so I just want to know how prominent this idea is. Please only serious answers. You don't have to be a Christian to answer but I don't make fun of you for your beliefs so please let me have mine

Lots of big christians/catholics pray to God for things. Most don't get what they prayed for. I believe that God can only give you the confidence to work to your goal, so when you finally reach it, it IS a miracle.

I just had one happen not too long ago.

Because they want to make you more miserable. That's what Christianity is about.

because they aren't God and know everything...God can fix those things but why He doesn't could be a number of things...one could be not enough faith...but that is for you to spend time to God with and find out...

I have no idea why people say that, because it's not fair to you NOR is it fair to God.

God does not just dip down and say "OH, let me give this person bipolar disorder because she doesn't believe in Me enough."

And then when you believe more, He does not say "Well, that will do then, she's learned her lesson."

These people are wrong. I'm a Christian and I would never tell ANYONE that.

andrew everyone is given tasks that are difficult and painful to complete in each lifetime by our creator. Just do the best you can and don't give up and in the end you have grown dramatically and move on to a higher life form in your next lifetime.

I didnt say that...SOMETIMES YOU might need meds...my son has ADD and i take pain meds..

My dear, you need to go speak to your GP about your problems. No offense, but you seriously need to talk to someone about the way you feel. Good luck x
