Why do gay people tell everyone that they're gay?

I like some perverted things but I don't tell my mother, start a club, design a flag, have parades & annoy the normal folks of America. So how come you do it? It's like all you are is a gay. There's nothing else to you...
 
1. What's a "Normal Person"?

2. I don't tell EVERYONE I'm gay; only relatives and potential boyfriends.

3. I define myself as a happy, active, crazy person more than a homosexual.

4. Please stop generalizing. :)
 
Visibility. The world assumes that everybody is heterosexual: it's in every music video bar about three, it's in every perfume advert, every movie bar a handful... even when you look at someone on the street, you don't assume that he's gay unless he's a raging poof. We slip under the radar and go ignored, so we tell people 'hey, you know what, I'm not invisible over here.'
