Why do other christian denominations try to tell their people that the other...

...denominations are false? To be specific, they seem to be quite fond of attacking the Mormons and JW's, but of course Fundies reject most of them; even Catholicism.

My question is, how can they really judge the other Christian denominations. Who are hey to judge whether or not other people interpret the Bible in the correct way?

"To be specific, they seem to be quite fond of attacking the Mormons and JW's, but of course Fundies reject most of them; even Catholicism. "

I * love * these questions. Thank you for posting one to which I can link.

So, you sneer at us when we attempt to set doctrinal limits.

Then you sneer at us, claiming Christians can't agree on anything.

Mormons and JWs disagree * starkly * with mainstream Christianity in regards to the divinity of Christ. How you people cannot get this through your heads is beyond me.

When we say, based on this point, let alone others, that they are not Christian, you wag your finger (as you do in this question), saying , "How * dare * you attempt to tell people they aren't Christian!".

Then, later, we're charged with having no set doctrine.

We're hosed either way.

Mormons believe they are the only true Christians, likewise Jehovah's Witnesses. They believe this for a very good reason. Their doctrines are fundamentally different from biblical Christianity, so different that both cannot be right. They know that either they're right or we are, and they figure it's them. Otherwise they'd change their minds.

Regarding other denominations, the only quarrel I have with them is that we should be meeting around Jesus, not around some pet doctrine or disagreement that happened 50 years ago. We were meant to be one in Him.

This is not something new, it's been going on since Christ ascended into heaven. There have been heresies and countless schisms forever. There can be only one symbol, the prototype.
Everything else should be a true copy of it, not marred and mingled with deception.
To know the original standard of Christianity you have to go back to the ancient Christianity of the first 1000 years. If you read the church fathers, the saints, you can't go wrong.

Both the Jehovah's Witnesses AND the Mormons claim that the "true" gospel was lost for more than 1,700 years, until their founders figured things out, on their own. Both claim to have a special sort of divine revelation that other denominations are not privy to. Both reject the key tenet of Christianity, that Jesus is divine. Both claim that other versions of Christianity are "apostate" or fallen, and are not "true" Christians.

Since both of these groups exclude every other Christian belief as not being legitimate, it's entirely reasonable to separate them from mainstream Christianity, as they wish. Essentially, both groups attempt to co-opt the label "Christian" for themselves, then exclude every other Christian.

So I think your accusation here is simply misplaced.

Technically, Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses aren't Christians. All Christian denominations accept the Nicene Creed. Mormons and JWs reject parts of it, specifically the parts about the nature of Christ. Because they reject things that are fundamental to understanding who Christ is, they worship a different god with the same name.

Look at it this way - If I worshiped a Frito(tm) and said it's name was Jesus Christ I would not be a Christian. Although Mormons and JWs aren't quite that far off, they are still not worshiping Christ as revealed in the Bible.

Beyond these cultists, the distinctions are less pronounced. Denominational leadership get along much better than frequently uneducated members of the denominations do. I know, for example, people like to bash Catholics, but today, on the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul the Pope was joined by representatives of many Protestant denominations.

That is because everyone in this society never seems to accept the fact that they can be wrong sometimes, no one is perfect and can be right about everything, which is what they don't seem to notice. Not saying my statement is right though.

If you are doing something that is not according to the teaching of the Bible, is that judging to point it out to someone? For instance, if you are driving a car and I am the passenger and I see someone is going to run a stop sign and run into you, should I tell you or not? It is the very same principle except one is trying to save someone in the physical world and the other trying to save someone in the spiritual world.

We all think we have the true faith. Mormons have their own holy book and is a young religion. Same with JWs.

You can judge Christian sects. Which one is the oldest? The first one that started by Jesus? The Catholic Church.

And we can judge people about the Bible. There's only one real bible.
