Why do people claim that Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world?

Islam is not the fastest growing religion in the world. Islam is the dominant religion of the third world where the birth rate is high. In these same Countries, Muslims are killed if they convert to Christianity.

Muslims have many wives and many kids, so you can expect it to grow pretty fast...
 
I wouldn't trust a Christian website to give a non-biased picture on religion.

Because it happens to be. Incidentally, the fastest growing religion in the United States is Wicca/NeoPaganism.
