why do people get really obsessed with prophecy's and numerology?

and act like the bible never contradicts science. the bible says things that are really vague so you can translate it to sound like it can mean anything and constantly say were in the end times. and once the end times don't come they act like they never said the world was going to end before and prepare for the next doomsday prediction.

fact anyone who said the earth was not round back in the dark ages was killed. and now christians act like the bible says the world is round id like to see a modern christian get in a argument with a ancient christian and see how different they really are.
 
Concerning your question only--I'm a Christian and I have no idea why people get obsessed like they do about prophecy and numerology.
 
This is how they keep their ancient mythology from appearing to be what it really is; i.e., a pack of superstitious nonsense written by ignorant Bronze Age tribesmen.
 
The devil does this to a man, not God. You are confused about even Christianity because you don't know the truth of God. The Holy Bible is truth and not confusion. The prophets of God who wrote God's Word have never been wrong. There are no contradictions, just men who do not understand the Word of God. The Word of God is revealed by the Holy Spirit who teaches us all things concerning Christ Jesus.

Without the Spirit draw you, my friend, you can't come! If I was in your predicament, I would fall on my knees and beg the Lord to make Himself known to me. I will promise you one thing and that is if you seek the Lord with all your heart, you will find Him.
 
I know right? We've been in the end times for the last 2,000 years. If it takes yet another 2,000 years, I'm sure we don't have to pack our bags just yet.
