Why do people insist on bringing their babies to sporting events?

First, the people all complain because a baby needs a ticket to get in. These kids come along with enough crap to fill up and extra seat, including diaper bags, bottles, car seat, the whole nine yards. The child is not going to enjoy the game, it is loud and there are a lot of people. The people around you will not enjoy your child being there if it cries the whole game. Then, to skirt around the rule, people buy tickets up in the nose bleeds to low prices and bring the child to sit with them anyway!

Maybe I'm just cranky and don't understand because I don't have a kid, but doesn't it make more sense for people to get a baby sitter and enjoy the game with their significant other while not having to worry about changing diapers and feeding the baby? Help me understand!
