Fred Claus, came to theaters in November 2007, came to DVD November 2008

Four Christmases, came out to theaters November 2008, came to DVD November 2009

and why does it all happen in november, and not december?

Does he do a christmas movie every year or something?

Is it in his contract? that would be weird.

Because traditionally, it's easier to sell Christmas movies in November before Christmas.

People are nostalgic and want to watch movies around that time.

You wouldn't want to sell a movie about Christmas in July, would ya?

Well, I doubt most people would buy christmas movies in July, so that's why the DVD release dates for christmas movies are usually late in the year.

As for why he's doing Christmas movies, I think the main reason is that a LOT of people go to the movies in the winter and especially over the holidays, so maybe there's more money involved.

guess its just not good usually when a movie goes to dvd that fast its just not good
