Why does Hollywood (and the rest of lamestream media) choose stupid people

to be celebrities? What ever happened to smart people who have real talent and actually do something useful for society being famous? Why do these lame movie actors and singers get to be famous and not people who make scientific discoveries, or awesome engineering feats?
