why does my internet explorer refuse to stay on for long period of time?

I keep getting that message which says that it need to be closed.
 
I don't know much about your situation but if you can, I would install Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2. If it works after this you might be able to uninstall it and see if it somehow fixed the old version.
