The LA Times reports that the occupy LA is costing the city money, as costly damage is being caused by occupy protesters who stay overnight:

Wouldn't this movement gain much more respect if none of the above happened? Wouldn't people support them more if they went home at night and didn't cost cities extra money? I have friends who are cops in Southern California, and they're getting all kinds of overtime.
Homeles who used to occupy these parks don't have a place to stay any longer, and local small business owners are losing revenue as well, because no one wants to go there to shop.
Charles, the Constitution does not prohibit cities from having curfews and establishing ordinances that protect sanitation.
They have the right to assemble, yes, but the curfew laws and sanitation laws are also constitutional. If these were tea partiers, you wouldn't defend their right to say overnight on parks while causing damage to trees and grass as the LA times reports.
Don't be a double-standard liberal. Liberals care about the environment when it's convenient. Liberals believe in a civil society where laws are obeyed, but only at their convenience.
Bruce, I'm all for the city granting permits, but Occupy is not offering to pay for permits like the example you mentioned.
And what about the street vendors who paid money and taxes to do business there? When can they get their spots back?
