Why don't celebrities seem to care how needing a reality show to find them love...

...makes them look? I realize that these shows like Rock of Love and For The Love of Ray J bring these people more publicity and ultimately more money, but don't these celebrities worry that needing a reality show to find them love makes them look desperate? It's not like they ever usually end up staying with the winners anyway. So why would they go through the trouble? Are they that desperate for publicity?
