(both happen occasionally)? after starting it, it will sometimes die instantly. After that, it wont start for a while. When this happened once, I had someone turn it over and it did have spark but would not start. Other times, it will die while going down the street, specifically while accelerating. I am convinced it is an electrical problem but dont know what it is. Anyone have a 1990 or near year honda accord? let me know if you have experienced anything like it. Again. I believe it is some kind of electrical problem, but dont know what it is .I have read about the main relay, but they are fifty bucks and I really dont think it is the problem because it dies when its cold too. (Does the 1990 honda accord have an under dash plug for one of those computer anylizers they sell at wallmart?) THANKS. an answer is appreciated.
Its a 1990. It Has the "EFI" injection. Yes fuel injected. it does not make any noises or anything like that. It is almost like some midget is under the hood while I am driving and he pulls the coil wire off while I am driving. Furthermore, I can hear the fuel pump when turning the key to the on position. I am getting spark. I can tell you one thing: I have bad oil leeks around the plug channels and under near the pan. Um I do keep oil in it. I am mechanically enclined and would put money on it that it is an electrical problem. I just dont know where.
