One of my ferrets chews on the food bowl when he eats. he does it before and after and it is so loud. I guess it don't hurt him but is he ok? He seems happy, bowl movements and urine is good and still so playful. Haven't changed his food or anything.

I have a rabbit who dose that sometimes too and my rabbit is fine and is probley just doing this to keep his teeth short and sharp.

Your ferret probably needs something to keep it's teeth down. My rabbit did this until I bought her a few wooden toys to chew on. I'm not sure if it's the same for ferrets though.

some ferrets do that to help break up their food to make it easier to chew. chewing on his bowl won't hurt him.

he may be trying to see if he can get the bowl loose and dump it over.

i use the bowls that you can clamp to the cage. none of mine have chewed on the bowls but there are a lot of ferrets that do.

hope this helps
