...at stuff in my cart? It was a long line and she was right in front of me. I had like some candy corn and a blanket with fall stuff on it ... not even Halloween stuff really ... and she starts touching stuff in my cart and saying how she hates that people spend money on Halloween. She was like "it just makes me sick they shouldn't even sell all this Halloween satanic stuff." I mean really a blanket with leaves on it and some candy corn is satanic?

No, clearly not. However, i think there's another issue here. Hallowe'en is about remembering loved ones who have passed on. It's OK for children to be included in that, but we need to bear in mind that it's the kind of festival which needs to be approached with reverence. For instance, i might remember my friend who committed suicide this spring, another friend who died of a heart attack a year or so ago, my cousin who died in a car crash in the 1990s, my dead grandparents and so on, on Hallowe'en, because that's what it's for. The commercialisation of it does seem distasteful to me, though in no way Satanic, just inappropriate like urinating on a grave.

Purple Fox up there couldn't have put it better. "People of Wal-Mart" is funny for a reason.

By the way I would have told her you're buying it to make Satan happy, better than all that awful Christmas crap.

ATTENTION K-MART SHOPPERS!!!!! Satanic Halloween goodies now on sale in aisle 13. Get your Satanic goodies before they all burn up! Satanic goodies for the kiddies, now in aisle 13.

Obviously a crazy b*&^h. You just have to get away from people like that.

300 years ago one of you (or probably both of you) would have been burned as a witch!
America has moved on since then (Allegedly)

Some people just have to throw their delusional thoughts right in your face. No, what you bought isn't "satanic" nor is the holiday itself.
