Why won't my new motorola dext make calls, text or connect to the internet?

i bought my dext on orange in the uk, its on contract for 100 mins, unlimited texts/internet/email. but none of it works, only when i connect to my own WiFi, no one else seems to have the answer for this, what do you recommend i do?
