Why would people come on the religion section just to slander?

I mean i've been looking through a lot of the questions on here, and every question seems to have 3 or 4 people who are determined to be like "God doesnt exist and your stupid if you believe it". Why would you come on the religion section just to slander, religion means alot to some peoples lifes. I'm just curious.

Not to put those people down, I dislike religion, not religious people.

You don't seem to understand the meaning of slander.

Slander: words falsely spoken that damage the reputation of another. Simply calling someone stupid is not slander.

As for people who come on here and are disrespectful to others - both atheists and the religious - I don't know their motivation. I do my best to be respectful and offer my opinions. I try not to talk down to others, but I will certainly point out when they are speaking from a position of ignorance.

Wow looking at all the posts before mine I can see where you're coming from. People have this need to smear their beliefs all on other people. My perspective is this, if your faith(or lack there of) makes you happy that's all that matters. I will probably get a swarm of people who disagree with me but we as humans tend to try to push what we believe on other people. That is likely the reason why you'll get some posters who come and respond to god related topics in a negative fashion. There are also those who crave that temporary sensation of victory by poking at all the religious folk for believing in a higher power. I wouldn't be too bothered by it to be honest with you. As long as you believe that your religious path is the right one for you than who cares what others say. I think this is more of a rant than it is an answer but I'll post it anyway ^_^

Slander refers to false accusations. Although with it being text, I suspect you mean 'libel'.

Either way, it's not slander if it's true.

This is a forum and people will respond with their opinions. Some of which you may or may not like. How is it slanderous?
