Will bike riding for 30 min. help me lose weight in my stomach area and thigh area?

I've been riding my bike everyday for 30 minutes each time, but I've started to worry that I'll look like an idiot later if it only helps my thigh area...
What areas does bike riding help with? Thighs? Legs? What areas?
If it doesn't help with the stomach area, could someone please tell me any ways that I could flatten my stomach?
Also, if I continues to ride my bike like this everyday, when should I see results?
