without health care? I have to write a research paper for English class and health care/insurance/whatever has to be a part of the subject. I chose to have my topic be on the health care that American soldiers and veterans have or don't have. Are there U.S. soldiers currently serving that don't have health care or insurance? If there are some that don't, where can I get the information on that to write a decent paper?

No, all active duty service members and their dependents have health care. Tri care is great. I never pay for a doctor’s visit and all my medications are free on base. So to answer your question, there are no active duty service members who dont have health care. Part of their contract entails that the goverment pays for their health care, dental and their families can utilize Tri-care and Concordia.

Also, I would like to remind you please don’t call everyone a Soldier. Soldier represents those in the Army. There are Marines in the USMC, Sailors in the US Navy and Airmen in the USAF. They are not called Soldiers.

Now, retired military retain their healthcare for life. It is part of the deal for serving 20 years.

All soldiers recieve free health care and veterans are pretty much covered too so I think this might be a harder topic then you think

All Active Duty and Activated U.S. Servicemembers have free health care. They do not pay premiums, co pays, or deductibles.

There are members of the Reserves and National Guard who may not have health insurance except when they are activated for a deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan. I'm not sure how you would go about contacting them, or whether they would be willing to talk to you about a political topic. (Soldiers are discouraged from discussing politics when they are speaking as a member of the military.)

All soldiers receive TRICARE. Reserve soldiers receive TRICARE-RESERVE SELECT.

Their is no way to not receive coverage if you are a soldier.

all active duty military members have healthcare. reserve and national guard members have deeply discounted plans and have no excuse to not have healthcare for themselves and their families.
