Will psp vita support ps1 games?

I want to play final fantasy 6,7,8, and 9 on the vita. Will I be able to?
 
From what I heard their downloading the games it won't be disk or cartridge based. It is coming with ffx from what I also have heard for those who like it. They do have 7 8 and nine downloadable from the ps network for ps3 and psp so it is a possibility.
 
As long as their from the PSN. Any game from the PSN that was compatible with the PSP will be compatible with the Vita.
