Will the iPad download apps from the iPhone/Ipod Touch section in iTunes?

I'm getting the iPad so I downloaded some apps but most of them ended up in the iPhone and iPod Touch section ((even though their for all 3)) Will the iPad download them from that section or am I going to have to pay for the apps again??
