will updating my ipod to iOS 4.2 delete songs that are on my ipod, but aren't on

my itunes? i have about 600+ songs that were from my old itunes on my old PC, and we had to reboot my computer and now i have songs that are on my ipod, but not in my current itunes. i was wondering if updating my ipod will delete those songs?
