I have a computer that I've installed Windows 7 32bit over XP 32bit. I'm trying to install 64bit from a legitimate installation disc, but when I select boot from CD/DVD drive, it goes to "..Boot Ready" and then freezes for about a minute, then (I'm assuming) boots from the HDD and goes straight back to the Win7 32bit version already installed. My computer is 64bit capable (yes, I've checked.), but I can't seem to get it to run the installation of the 64bit. I'm trying to do a clean install. What exactly am I doing wrong, and what should I try/do?

Format the hard drive and install it clean that way.

Did you change the order the machines boots from to DVD ROM first than HDD if not that could be your problem.
