wireless blueray players and computer hookups - what to buy?

I cannot stream netflix or a LOT of any other kind of video, because I have HughesNet satellite service for my internet, and there is a very strict limit of 200 Mb a day for downloads. Yes, I agree, I don't like it, but I live in the middle of nowhere and that is the only service available.

What I am wondering is if I get a wireless blueray player, does that mean I can send video that I have saved on my computer thru my wireless router to the blueray player? Like YouTube videos? Or am I better off just hooking up a VGA cable to the back of my TV?

I dunno whether to get a basic blue ray without wireless stuff, and just watch DVD's thru netflix, or get the fancy kind, if it will hook up to my computer so I can easily watch you tube etc. Remember, streaming video is NOT an option, the connection is too slow and the download limit is too small.

also, can a wireless blueray install spyware or other undesireable software onto my computer without my knowledge? Sony has pulled some stuff in the past, I have heard.

The sony stuff that I heard about was the music CD's they sold a few years back, putting software on computers and it messed up some of those computers, I heard, which was a major hassle to the owners.

First of all there are blu-ray dvd players that have a built in Wi-Fi. However it is only to stream radio stations (like pandora), netflix, youtube, hulu-plus, etc and not to send any video or files. It is basically for streaming only. The Wi-Fi blu-ray dvd can only stream out to your computer monitor or television and cannot receive any files to your blu-ray dvd player. So with a wireless built in Wi-Fi blu-ray will not fit your needs since you only have a limit of 200MB a day for download. Streaming movies uses a lot of bandwidth.

Unless you can get a unlimited plan with your internet provider then you can stream movies (netflix etc) or music (pandora) from your Wi-Fi Blu-ray dvd player to your computer monitor or television. Otherwise you would only use Blu-Ray DVD just to watch movies that you rent or buy on discs.

I have never heard of any spyware software being installed from a Blu-Ray dvd.
