wireless internet working from someone elses!!?

i hav a laptop and recently moved out of my old house where my computer was connected to wireless internet to the computer upstairs..
so anyway iv moved out to a new home like 20 mins away frm the old one and i wanted to get the net set up again here..
i havnt tho but i plugged my laptop in and it sed internet connected!!
i live in flats so is it bcoz sum1 has the net and im getting the signal off theirs? i am geting the net for free lol!!
will they track my computer?
iv changed my computer name to acer so thats all they will c..
will it come up on their computer?
only sucky thing is whoeva has the computer wen they turn it off i lose my connection lol

Yes it is possible to connect through someone else's wireless connection if they don't have security set up.
