World Of Warcraft : Wrath Of The Lich King newbie question.?

So here is the situation.

I downloaded the WoLTK expansion to play on private server and I do not have any CD-key from 2 prevoius expansion. Meaning I do not have WoW account with blizzard yet.

I'm thinking to buy the cd key on the internet for WoTLK only. So I will have the CD-key for WoTLK now.

Question : Can I started to play WoTLK on retail server and open an WoW account with Blizzard.com using the WoTLK I just bought from the internet or do I still need to buy both previous WoW CD-key to make me able to play on retail server.

its pretty simple,firstly u need all the keys

u have to enter key to world of warcraft first
then burning crusade
then wrath of lice king,

u cannot skip any of these as each time it upgrades ur account.

you can buy cd keys safely online at this address as i do myself for gamecards or whatever

If you are playing on a private server, you should not need any of the keys. The game client itself is available directly from Blizzard and private servers modify some of the settings, but you should never be prompted for CD keys during installation. Keys are applied to the account you make at worldofwarcraft.com to upgrade your account.

You are correct that if you want to play on a retail server, you have to have a full WoW account with the regular WoW and Burning Crusade keys in order to upgrade to Lich King.

You need all the keys. Just having the WotLK data on your computer is not enough.
In fact, even people who only have vanilla WoW have this data on their computer, they just can't access the content they haven't yet paid for.

The CD keys update your account. It is a separate issue from WoW patches being downloaded.
