Would Gadgets installed and displayed on desktop screen provided by Windows 7 slow

down your computer? I know those like clock, weather, CPU monitor that keeps running would take up resources but what about those icons that are dormant such as metric calculator, search engine or language translator that are not in idle mode? or are all gadgets displayed are in idle mode nevertheless?
 
They don't use your memory when installed unless they become visible on your desktop. You will notice this when you open your Task Manager. Look for the Sidebar.exe. It only appears when you show a gadget on your desktop. The memory usage increases when you show more gadgets on your screen.
 
everything slows computer to an extend...... try avoiding using those..
