so do i get one that plays dvd-r or divx

I haven't finalized the disk yet, but I have pulled the disk out and put in it my CD ROM tray and I would like to now edit the files on there with my editing software. I just want to know how to take all the files off the disk and onto my pc. Much appreciated.
