Taking a look at the different segments of the (UK) market, Ford actually has the most fuel efficient/lowest CO2 in a 3 of them.
Supermini/sub-compact - Fiesta 1.6tdci Econetic - 98g/km CO2, 76.3mpg
Small family car/compact - Focus 1.6tdci Econetic - 114g/km, 65.7mpg (im ignoring the Prius because its more expensive and in the real world, the fuel economy on the motorway/highway is worse)
4x4/SUV - Kuga 2.0tdci 2wd - 159g/km, 46.3mpg
Maybe they should sell these cars in the US and elsewhere.
PS. the mpg figures are imperial gallons, to convert to US gallons, multiply by (3.785/4.545)
