are my internet speeds good for xbox live game play ?

ok well i have embarq high speed internet and im supposed to have the $34.95 internet service with 1.5m down and 512k up i speed tested my connection and my results were 3018kbps down and 640kbps up are these good speeds for xbox live gaming? (mainly gears of war, gears of war 2, and call of duty 4)
If not or if u have any better suggestions for an high speed internet provider around the same price available in southwest florida i would appreciate it if posted them =]
