I don't want the entire story to revolve around their relationships, just that the main character happens to be gay and may or may not have a love interest. For example, the main protagonist in Mercedes Lackey's Magic Pawn/Promise/Price trilogy is gay, which really surprised me (in a good way) since I've never come across gay characters outside of fanfiction. If not, are there any good fantasy/sci-fi novels whose main character(s) is male, and never develops a female love interest throughout the plot?
