If you bother to read it, Jesus fulfilled all of the predictions of a coming Messiah in the Old Testament. Isn't that proof enough for Athiests?

It's very easy to make "predictions" when the events have all happened beforehand, for I believe THAT is EXACTLY what took place.

No he didn't. He allegedly fulfilled some of the prophecies. But he didn't even fulfill them all. It says that the Messiah would be called Immanuel in the Old Testament. Well, that's not the case, for one.

Any time you make thousands of prophecies, some are bound to come true. The Bible is a bunch of confusing contradictions and failed prophecies with the occasional consistency once in a while. Weaving together all the inconsistencies is always confirmation bias related and makes you do a huge mental gymnastics exercise.

Tell you what..BOB...when the Jews, you know, the people whose ancestors WROTE the prophecies, decide that Jesus was the messiah then, and only then, will I climb aboard.

But we both know that won't happen...don't we?

Why do you show such disrespect for God's most favored humans? Jealous because you were not designated as a favored human so you just went out and made yourself into one? LOL...does God approve? Guess you will find out...bet you will also find out how hot hell is too.

Considering Jesus was written by the same people who wrote the predictions... no....

Did you know that the prophecy predicted that Anakin would destroy the Sith and in movie 6 he actually ended up killing the Emperor?

As can be seen in Revelations the bible also predicts seven headed dragons.

Revelations 12 - 3
"And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads."

Surely all the wacky stuff in the bible is enough to tell you that the book was written by a bunch of particularly superstitious bronze age farmers...

BOB, isn't Hindu prophecy proof of the existence of Ganesh, Krishna and Shiva? They've all fulfilled the foretellings. Read up on the Vedas and Avatars.

I hope you realize that my logic also makes no sense.

No, their belief is based off of physical evidence, they want actual proof that God and Jesus are real. To them, this isn't enough proof.

No. There is no physical proof of the existnce of God whatsoever...

No more than "fulfilled" prophesy by pagan religions, Nostradamus, etc.

The concept of vague prophecy has existed many many years before the Bible ever existed, as well as many which were made after and during the events in that book.

It's much more likely that the fictional New Testament was written to accommodate the fictional Old Testament or that they were general, vague, self fulfilling prophecies.

@ no chance
Book #5 predicted that one of them would have to kill the other

As you can see by the answers, you will never convince them of the truth of the Bible. Yes, Prophecy was fulfilled, is being fulfilled, and will be fulfilled.

If Jesus fulfilled the prophecy why don't the Jews accept him? Fail...

Jesus - a character in a book - fulfilled the prophecies that were written in the very same book? Never mind that the events in the Bible - "prophecies" included - were written AFTER the fact, making them HIGHLY SUSPECT. Also, they are incredibly vague, and actually, no, Jesus in the Bible did NOT, actually, fulfill his own prophecies! If YOU bothered to read the Bible, you would see that.

The Bible cannot stand alone as it's own evidence, so no - it is not "proof enough". There is no evidence outside of the Bible that Jesus ever actually existed, or that any of the events that took place surrounding his life ever actually happened.
