I'm not a big fan of buying DVDs, I only have about ten movie DVDs & I have a big collection of Doctor Who DVDs, if I wanted to start a big collection of DVDs should I stay w/the regular ones' (how long will they be around?), or start with blue ray DVDs (are regular ones going the way of VHS, beta). And my Doctor Who collection which is British, like alot of British shows seem to stick w/regular dvds, so what should I do, stick w/regular or start a blue ray collection?

It's Blu-ray ;)
I think if you have a high-def tv you should go with Blu-ray,sooo much better then DVD. Watch the movie Avatar on Blu-ray on and you will never look at DVD the same way again.

stick with the regular i think, you might want to upgrade sometime... but now i dont really think its necessary... its almost the same lol

I think DVDs aren't being pushed out anytime soon. VHS lasted a few years after DVDs were around. 2005; I remember buying a VHS of a new movie.

DVD(s) in the future Will become obsolete but not yet; not everyone owns a blue Ray player now.

It really depends on your viewing experience.

There is always going to be something else coming around the corner. After Blue Ray gets settled there is going to be something different.

But it's not as bad as computers or Video game consoles.
