Can a blue ray player play karaoke discs?

a standard sony blue ray player, can it play the discs for karaoke machines? or are there different types of discs that do work in a blue ray player?
Karaoke discs are not blue rays or HD discs they are in a different format. Will a blue Ray play CDG discs?

In general... no. CDG is not a video format and most DVD players will not play them. The exception being multi-format karaoke players.
