can i add a cd key from a legit pc game to a torrent version if the disc came warped?

ok so i bought batman arkham city (brand new) from amazon. but when i put the disc in it starts grinding, turns out it's bent. now the disc is scratched too but anyway, can i dl a torrent version and just add the cd key to it or would i still have to use the disc later?

1. you can shut off you internet connection then put it in. this will disable the game from checking to see if its legit. or 2. you can google "batman arkham city crack and follow the instructions these allow the game to run without the CD.

torrent games are hacked so they don't take CD Keys
just return the game and exchange it for a good one.
