can i connect an hdmi cable to my tv and a a/v (red and white) cable to my surround sound wen im connecting a blueray player?

if i did you can too, i hooked up my PS3 to my 46" LCD via HDMI and then in the back via the AUDIO OUT hooked it out to my surround sound system, its a very nice 'theatre'y setup, not just for the video games but for the movies too
