Can I setup a wireless network with my blue ray dvd player?

I would like to be able to access the network on my dvd player. Is it possible do this without connecting an ethernet cable into the modem, as my dvd player isn't anywhere near the modem. I have a usb port on the front on the dvd player. Can I use wireless usb card that I use for one of my computers to connect to the internet?
