Can my up scaling DVD player play HD DVDs?

I know it reads normal DVDs but can it play HD DVDs also? i have this DVD player

Yup, as stated, a standard DVD player - even an upscaling one, will not read or play HD DVDs, Blu-Ray, etc.

No, HD-DVDs can only be played on HD-DVD players.

no, this DVD player only plays standard DVDs and CDs. It just doubles the scanlines to add more detail and clarity to the pictures. it cannot read HDDVD or BluRay Format, only standard DVDs & DVD R/RWs.

Yeah.. it should but it won't be the same quality as playing it on an HD DVD player
