can you play regular dvds movies on a blue ray player?

i wanna buy 3 movies but i can only get two of them as the regular dvd and the other movie i want is only in blue ray. so if i buy a blue ray player will i be able to watch the regular dvds on that one too?
 
Yep no problem I have several . A Blue ray is the same as a dvd player .

Like my new pic found that in an old folder .
 
Sorry if I sound annoyed, but yes you can, they play regular dvds as well, and it is Blu Ray, not Blue Ray as in the color Blue, it is spelled Blu Ray, next time you go to ask a question like this, if you not sure of a spelling to find the correct spelling before you make a guess at how it is spelled.
