Need a computer genius. How can I install Windows 7 on my Mac 13 using an external Disc Drive?
OK... I tried calling Apple about 5 times. After a few hours I was transfered to a "senior advisor". He was unable to help me so here goes nothing.
I have a Mac 13 inch.
2 GHz Intel Core Duo
Memory is 2Gs
Snow Leopard is installed
My internal hard drive is broken I guess. Some CDs work and some do not work. I borrowed a friends external disc drive to install my software.
When I restarted to continue with the installation of Windows 7 I reached a screen with a folder and a qustion mark in it.
I tried downloading Refit. It is loading every time, but it is not detecting my external disc drive. It did detect it at first, but now it is not working. I tried reinstalling it several times, but it never worked again.
I've tried a lot of things here, but I have run out of ideas. Hopefully there is someone out there that knows how to handle Refit or knows of a different program that will allow my Windows 7 to install.

And Izzy... I am not a computer genius, but I am in computer science school. I'd really like to do this without having to buy an expensive new disc drive that has to be installed. I never even use a disc drive.
