COuld amplifier on cable line affect Home theater if signal is too strong or too...

...weak? Had two new calbel lines run at the house, amplifier installed, now home theater speakers only work in MONO. If I jsut play the radio, all speaker play fine in all modes, stereo, digital etc. But when I try to play the TV shows through the home theather system, only plays in mono. I am wondering if signal is too strong or too weak and this is affecting the Home theather system?
