DIVX movie plays on my dvd player, but stops after about one hour. What's wrong?

So, for the past while, the movies I'm watching on my DVD player, in DVIX format, have been stopping unexpectedly after about an hour or so of watching. I have no idea what the problem is, as the file format is AVI. I don't know what's wrong... Can somebody help me, please? I would like to watch my movies peacefully.
