DVD films wont run on my Pc?

I have tried and tried to play a dvd film/s on my Windows Vista home edition computer.
I am not a newbie to computers but i just can not seem to play a dvd.

When i load it on i can hear it whizzing around and then it just stops and that's it!

Any help on this one if you can...many thanks
 
Sending you a link that will tell you what to do about your DVD issues with Vista.
