Dvd recorder wont record ps3 gameplay?

I have set up my PS3 through my DVD RECORDER and than to my TV, but when I switch the output from HDMI to RCA it doesn't work, I want to record gameplay.The PS3 says switch signal( something like that) i did and it still doesn't work.

The DVD RECORDER MODEL: Emmerson DVD/VCR COMBO

PS3 is a 120gb model

unfortunately connecting your ps3 to some dvd players will not work because some video games have a protection on them which not allow the video being input into your dvd to be descrambled for video recording of your game play. what you need is something with video stabilizer or copy protection remover. im not absolutely sure this is the case but it sounds like it from your post.

when i record my games off the ps3, i generally use a tristar mx hd pvr. it allows you to record the video game play in high definition. the tristar mx hd pvr is the size of a small bible. it can record onto an internal hard drive, network, sd card, thumb drive, flash drive, or onto your computer. it works without a computer and is similar hauppauge hd pvr, but sightly better with other functions added to it. also the price is better. lol
