DVD ripping - what is the resultant file size?

If I use a DVD ripping software, what would be the resultant file size in comparison to original size?

I tried bitRipper for a 1 minute file, it gave me 300 MB size after ripping.

The same size!!!! Your ripping it, not changing the format to down size it! Making a copy!
