Hi guys, I have a 1997 honda civic automatic trans. I accidentally put my gear into 2(the bottom gear, next to D3). It happened when i was on a stoplight, put my car into neutral then I put it into 2. I was on 30mph and did not accelerate further because i was thinking that this could damage my transmission. My question is that, did I damage my transmission, running at 2 at 30mph? Thank you for your answer, would gladly appreciate it.

No, shift neutral then 2..Car will change gear only upto 2nd gear..people do this going uphill or controlling low speed downhill. Don't worry.

relax that is not going to hurt anything the lower gears are for when you are going down really steep hills you can use the compression of the engine to help with braking so that the brakes do not get so hot, Also you can use low, or second when going up a steep hill around 30 or so, So accidentally putting it in second and taking off will hurt nothing, the car may have taken off slower but thats all it did not hurt anything
